North Dakota State Park Trails

Hiking - Biking - Horseback

Here in North Dakota, our state park system offers great experiences for our hikers. Maybe it is a short hike your looking for, 1/2 mile or so, well we have them here. Our beautiful state also offers more vigorous hiking, like thru the Badlands, or maybe the Killdeer Mountains, it is all offered here in North Dakota.

Horse riding trails are available at Little Missouri, Fort Ransom, Sully Creek, and Fort Abraham Lincoln. You'll have to bring your own horse to Fort Ransom and Sully Creek, corrals are available for those who bring horses. Anyone bringing in horses to Fort Ransom area, is recommended to get horses vaccinated before doing so. Early this year do to very wet conditions in June, Anthrax spores have been discovered in this area.

You mountain bike riders must remember that bike riding is not allowed on horse trails unless specifically says it's OK. On occasion you will find bike and horse trails closed do to the conditions. For example if there has been to much rain in an area, trails we be closed to keep trails from being damaged any more than usual.
