North Dakota has some of the finest outdoor recreation that is offered any where in the United States. Hunting and fishing brings in people from all over the country. Walleye tournaments at Devil's Lake is a big draw to many professional fisherman. Our pheasant population has been growing rapidly throughout North Dakota, there for attracting hunters from all over. Winter recreation in the state is also a big draw for out of state visitors. North Dakota has some of the finest snowmobile trails in the country, maintained by North Dakota Parks and Recreation, Snowmobile North Dakota, and local snowmobile clubs. North Dakota also offers downhill skiing and cross country skiing. Most the ski areas have the capability to produce their own snow when Mother Nature isn't cooperating. Cross country trails are groomed and kept up very well. Mountain bike trail riding in North Dakota can be an adventure in itself.
