Sheyenne National Grasslands Mountain Biking For some of the best mountain biking trails in North Dakota, you will have to visit the North Country Segment, in the Sheyenne National Grasslands. Located near Lisbon, North Dakota, 45 miles southwest of Fargo, has something to offer the whole family. If you are looking for some beautiful snenry this is the place. My favorite time to visit this area is in the fall when the when the splendor of fall leaves is so abundant. Riders have a combination of Forest Service roads and local roads to ride on. A few steep trails along the way with sandy areas, offers some intense trail riding for the more experienced rider. Camping is allowed is some areas here in the grasslands, so make a weekend of it , riding the back trails of the Sheyenne National Grasslands of North Dakota.
