Dickinson, North Dakota
Dickinson, in Stark County, population of about 16,000, is the largest city in western North Dakota.
Not far from the Badlands, Dickinson is a great place to settle down and raise a family. Good jobs can be found in the area do to the booming oil business. Since oil prices have soared, more oil wells are being put on-line and therefore bringing good paying jobs to the area. A new Wal-Mart is going up in town, which also brings more local jobs.
The Baker Boy, bakery manufacturer and distributor, makes its home here in Dickinson. With over 400 products being made here, Baker Boy is proud to say it is one of the prominent bakeries in the Upper Midwest. At 50 years old and with 250 employees, Baker Boy is going stronger than ever, filling the needs of those they supply.
The education system here in Dickinson consists of public school system. --- K - 12. There are also several parochial schools in Dickinson, Trinity East and Trinity West serve as grade schools junior and high school. Hope Christian Academy also call Dickinson home. Dickinson State University is also located here. It is a four year school.
While visiting Dickinson, a must see is the Dakota Dinosaur Museum, trust me this is a really cool place to visit. Also for you golf enthusiasts, we have the Heart River Golf Course, a 18 hole course, measuring 6.734 yards.
