Camping Gear & Equipment Checklist
Below is all the camping gear and equipment needed on a normal camping trip
|
TENTS
What kind of tent is needed? Remember, the tent is the most important piece of equipment, to ensure a successful camping trip. Size of family has to be considered when thinking about purchasing tents, also is there going to be any hiking involved? If so maybe a 1 or 2 man tent is the way to go. Depending on the situation Seasonal Tents can make a difference. Are you going to be camping in any extreme conditions?
Sleeping Bags
A good sleeping bag is essential while camping outdoors in the elements. From your fleece sleeping bags to your 30 below zero mummy bags, picking the right one is very important. Normally in the summer while camping a light sleeping bag that keeps you warm to 40-50 degrees will be sufficient. In more extreme areas where temperatures will be falling off to below freezing, picking the right sleeping bag is so important. There are sleeping bags on the market for all conditions that may arise while in the Great Outdoors.
|
Insulated Pads
All sleeping bags should be in attendance with a insulated sleeping pad. Especially in climates where the ground don't warm all that much . A good pad adds warmth and comfort to our camping adventure. Kids aren't as particular when comes to comfort, but the older I get , more comfort I want.

Lanterns and Flashlights
A good lighting system is essential after the sun goes down. I don't know about you, but I like to see whats going on while I be cooking, playing games or just sitting around reading. Flashlights can be used for when wandering away from camp. There are many kinds of gas and electric lanterns out there on the market. Something for everyone.
Camping Stoves
If cooking while outdoors is on the menu, while camping, you are going to need a good gas cooking stove. In some circumstances your home grill would probably be sufficient . A grate to put over your campfire could be used for cooking also. Dutch ovens are very good way to cook outdoors also.
Tarps and Rain Flies
A good tarp over the cooking area and dining table is a must. This protects from the sun, rain and wind. Good tarps can make camping life so much better if the circumstances warrant such.
First Aid Kits
A family first-aid kit is a great thing to have while out camping. Who knows when something might happen and get scrapes, cuts, burns and what ever. Band-aids, gauze, tape, anticeptic bacterial ointment are just a few things needed in a kit.
